These classes are carefully planned to provide your child with some of the key concepts to support their learning journey and give them the best possible start to school.
We gently introduce children to the letter sounds in a multi sensory way. We look at the shape of the letter (the grapheme) we learn an action to associate with the letter sound and we sing a song. We then consolidate this through a fun game. As well as learning about letter sounds we also introduce the key skills of oral blending and segmenting. Robot Reg, our friendly yet cheeky mascot teaches to us to use our Robot arms to blend sounds together to make a word. We can then reverse this to break words down into sounds!
In addition to all this we also dance away. Not only is this great fun, but it also develops and strengthens our gross motor skills. A highlight of every session is Reg's Rave. The hall lights are dimmed and the disco lights put on and our fingers and hands dance away with our playdoh!
