About CREST Star Award – Young Scientists | Ages 3–7
3 - 7yrs
Become a CREST Star Scientist!
Join Kidwise for a six-week programme of practical science, discovery and investigation designed especially for young home educators aged 3–7.
CREST Star is part of the CREST Awards programme run by the British Science Association. It introduces young children to scientific thinking through practical STEM challenges.
There are no worksheets full of facts to memorise. Instead, children learn by asking questions, making predictions, experimenting, observing and talking about what they discover.
Across the six weeks, our young scientists will complete six hands-on CREST challenges, developing skills including:
🔬 Scientific investigation
💭 Questioning and predicting
🧪 Practical experimentation
🔎 Observation
🧠 Problem-solving
💬 Explaining their ideas
The certificate, passport and evidence of the children's investigations can also be kept as part of their Home Education Portfolio, providing a lovely record of their practical science learning and achievment
