An acrobatics gymnastics class is a partner and group-based gymnastics discipline where participants work together to perform balances, lifts, throws, catches, and tumbling routines. Unlike artistic gymnastics, there is no use of apparatus such as beams or bars. Instead, athletes rely on strength, flexibility, trust, timing, and teamwork to create dynamic routines choreographed to music.
Strength and flexibility: Exercises to build core strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility, which are essential for safe partner work.
Partner and group skills: Learning how to safely perform balances, lifts, and dynamic movements with one or more partners.
Skills: Practising rolls, cartwheels, handstands, walkovers, and tumble skills that support acrobatic routines.
Routine work: Combining skills into choreographed sequences performed to music, focusing on presentation, synchronisation, and performance quality.
