Sessions take place in the Coffee Bar on the first floor, Surbiton Hill Methodist Church, 39 Ewell Road, Surbiton, KT6 6AF
9 - 14yrs
Aimed at advanced LEGO builders aged 9-14, our competition training sessions push your child’s building, programming, and teamwork skills to the limit, preparing them for national LEGO Robotics competitions. Participants will work in teams to build robots and tackle real competition problems using official mats. Beyond building, they’ll research and create presentations, as required by competitions like FIRST LEGO League and World Robotics Olympiad.
Children train weekly on Robotics challenge mats, working towards competition entry, with competition entry fees paid in advance. Attendance is welcome even if they choose not to enter competitions.
This course is for experienced builders with a strong foundation in LEGO Robotics. Preference will be given to those who’ve completed our intermediate classes or have significant experience with LEGO Boost, Spike Prime, or EV3. Challenges will require intermediate programming and building skills, ensuring a rewarding and non-trivial experience.
