We are a small and caring team of childcare practitioners and professionals, with a vast amount of Early Years’ experience and a variety of ages. We champion excellence in childcare by focusing on each child as an individual as well as encouraging the children to experience awe and wonder. We encourage the children to be the doers and thinkers while being curious about the environment around them. Our home from home environment enables children to feel safe and secure during their time with us.
Our nursery benefits from a large outdoor space for the children to explore safely and freely. All equipment is catered to the children’s ages using natural and holistic resources. The garden also offers a large mud kitchen area, 2 large sandpits as well as a large construction area – fit for any little one who loves to dig, build, and create their own little haven. We love outdoor play, so be prepared for your little ones to have muddy fun!
The Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-School prides itself on its safeguarding measures. Our outdoor space is fully secured to ensure the children are safe. We operate using a password system to ensure children are only collected by those who are assigned to do so. Our in-house chef prepares tasty and nutritious home cooked food, and water and snacks are available throughout the day.
Our building was constructed back in 1888 and was used as a Methodist church until 2012 before it was converted to the nursery. We have wonderful vaulted ceilings and high windows allowing natural light to flood in.
A room where babies can relax, sleep, crawl, and explore new sights and sounds to awaken the senses. Our Baby Snug is the perfect place for our youngest children to begin their nursery journey.
Located next door to their younger Baby cousins, our toddler den has space for exploration, play and new experiences. Creative play, colourful and textured resources, singing, stories, outdoor play, and nursery rhymes are how we learn every day
Preparing for school and those next big steps in education is a big deal, so in our study we focus on activities that promote reading, writing, maths and science – ensuring children are learning as they play. All activities are carefully planned to cover all areas of learning.
