Little Bats Learning is a young, but already multi-award winning social enterprise, which offers quality forest school sessions, free universally to all children across Bolton. We passionately believes in children's rights and need to play for their mental, physical and emotional growth and development.
Our forest school sessions enable ALL Bolton children to access quality sessions to explore, to stetch their limits, to get creative, let their imaginations flourish, make new friends and build a lifelong appreciation of and relationship with our natural spaces and woodlands. Whether they want to climb a tree; inspect a bee; hide with a 1-2-3; smell, sing or see - our sessions will likely fill you with glee.
Sessions we offer are:
Nature, Nurture, Natter is our nature-based, mental health support session for parents who are pregnant or with a young baby. Babies' brains develop the most during the first 1000 days of their life - from conception to their second birthday, so we offer you the chance to reduce or minimise stress through spending time at our beautiful forest garden The Roost at Bright Meadows. Sessions are also supported by our trained Mental Health Peer Supporters too.
Stay & Play the forest school way is our toddler/preschooler programme, running in 8 week blocks at various Bolton Council Family hub centres. We make best use of the outdoor spaces, and offer families a chance to explore outdoor and nature play in a more contained space, with the back up of well-equipped family rooms and facilities. Please note - getting muddy is encouraged!
Family/homeschool session at The Roost at Bright Meadows for parents with 0-11 year olds.
Forests Cool - our twice-weekly after school club, run from The Roost at Bright Meadows, and Seven Acres Local Nature Reserve. For children aged 5 plus.
HAF programme we run this most major holidays for school age children - 4 day long 'camps' - a deep dive into forest school, and a chance to have holiday adventures and fun, without even leaving the area!
