Age Range
Emma trained at Laban before performing and teaching with various contemporary dance companies including Transitions Dance Company, Random Dance, Tempered Body Dance Theatre and CandoCo. She also worked with many independent dance artists on original, collaborative works, as well as choreographing her own.
As a dance teacher, she has taught contemporary, dance, tap and street dance to hundreds of children and young people in Lewisham and across London, as well as supporting them through performances and Arts Award qualifications.
Emma is also a qualified teacher with 10 years experience working with early years and primary-aged children, and currently works as an Assistant Headteacher in Lewisham.
Creativity has always been central to her dance and educational practice and Emma has recently completed an EdD, which developed a model of creativity for primary school teachers.
Emma has a passion for nurturing creativity in young people and providing arts-rich experiences for all, maintaining her values of creativity alongside a commitment to providing high quality dance teaching focused on developing core techniques and performance skills.
Emma provide Rambert Grades classes for young children, introducing them to the creative work of contemporary dance. We provide a creative syllabus centred on engaging themes each week that introduce young children to contemporary dance technique and creative movement, harness musicality and grow in confidence.
Children also have the opportunity to complete Rambert Grades qualifications.
