I think the best way to start is to introduce myself.. I’m Leanne, I’m a mum to two beautiful girls – Madison (5) and Maisie (8 months), I’m planning a wedding, and I’m a qualified Level Three Childcare Professional with many years experience in local Nurseries with Children from ages 3 months – 5 years, however after having my first little girl, then covid I found the hours of a nursery to be really unsuitable around a little one – honestly, I missed having that time with her – so I opted to change roles/companies to an admin (office based role) where incredibly I found the most supportive, wonderful colleagues who made work enjoyable once more and provided more family balance for us.

But there’s been something missing – I would always really enjoy setting up tuff trays in the nursery, I’d really enjoy seeing the little ones faces light up, the wonder at what you’d created and the fun they’d have – I mean the more creative, the messier – the BETTER in my opinion; so after leaving a nursery position I continued to make these for my girls; this made me think, is there anything on offer locally? Is there anywhere parents can safely, (without the mess at home) experience this fun with their children?

During covid setting up the messy trays for my daughter to enjoy was my favourite pastime, who wants to clean the house whilst the baby sleeps? We had enjoyed so many trays together that it soon became a running joke with family requesting “messy play” pictures daily – it would have been rude not to deliver on this – I've attached a range of the pictures on the next post so you can have a ague idea of what to look forward to with your own little ones.

Since my eldest was born in 2019 I’ve always considered starting a group, always talked myself out of it, always lacked the confidence and self-esteem to try. However, life really is too short for regrets – so I’ve taken the plunge…..

Welcome to Cheeky Chimps Messy Play! Join us on Tuesday 10th September 2024 for our first public session at Bridgwater Sea Cadets from 10:30am – 11:15am, booking session to go lie shortly, keep your eyes peeled for a link, please ensure to include any dietary requirements/allergies of your little ones on booking to ensure we can accommodate for all – all sessions will be £7 with a discount of 50% in the interim for siblings. We’ll be exploring all things The Hungry Caterpillar (and creative mess!).
