OUR STORY
Act'in Theatre was created by Candice Desmet on 1 September 2015 in one of the studios at Old Paradise Yard, in the heart of London. The project was born when she realised that many people didn't dare try acting for fear of not being up to itor because they didn't think it was for them. However, everyone agreed that drama classes could help them in their daily lives, at work or in their private lives (improving public speaking, stress management, etc.). The idea of making theatrical practice accessible to all became central to Candice, who took up the challenge of breaking down these common beliefs by offering workshops open to all.
The adventure began with a French-speaking class on a Friday evening. The activity then expanded, and today Act'in Theatre offers eighteen different classes, including four in English, three improvisation workshops, workshops for children, and private coaching sessions for those who want more personalised training.
ACT'IN AND LES P'TITS ACT'
Because Act'in credo is 'drama for everyone', it was only natural for us to open LES P'TITS ACT', workshops dedicated to French-speaking children in London!
Expression, self-confidence, and the discovery of emotions are essential for our little ones. Thanks to our team's teaching methods and our theatrical experience, our workshops are adapted, diversified and full of goodwill for your children.
Rich by the strength of our work with French schools in London, we've decided to expand accross London to the delight of young and old alike!
We now offer children classes in French in South Kensington at the French Institute (drama, improv and cinema) and in Kentish Town (drama).
