About Social Boccia with WX Wakefield

We would love to invite you and the whole family to our FREE social Boccia sessions where you and your family will get to experience our newest Active Future Sport, Boccia! This sport is one for the entire family, with anyone 5 years old + being able to take part.
Our open day will give you the opportunity to try Boccia! Boccia is a Paralympic sport with no Olympic equivalent. It is a target sport in which two teams compete to get red and blue boccia balls closest to the white jack ball. This can be done by throwing, kicking, or rolling the ball down a ramp with the assistance of a ramp operator. Everyone stays seated when playing boccia, as it was originally only played by wheelchair users, this means that anyone can participate. Boccia is the fastest growing parasport, and the most accessible.
